In the lovely city of Jaisalmer, a festival called the Jaisalmer Desert Festival is held every year in February. Three days prior to the full moon, in the Hindu month of Magh (February), it takes place. The Sam Dunes in the Thar Desert are where the festival is held, amid the stunning dunes (42 kilometres from Jaisalmer). The three-day festival of desert delights brings the distant, unspoilt, and romantic locale to life.
