The Khaba Fort in Jaisalmer is a desert castle in ruin that is located in the sweltering Thar Desert. The 13th century is when this desolate, unsettling, and mysterious settlement first appeared. The Paliwal Brahmins of the Kuldhara village, who deserted the town in the 19th century and left behind a ghost town, originally owned the architecture. The focal point of the entire village and the surrounding landscape is reached through the stairs at the fort’s entrance. For a scary experience, you can also stroll through the fort’s ramparts and quiet lanes to the ethereal Kuldhara village, which extends from the fort’s base.
The construction is made more elegant by the turreted towers, elaborate latticework, and lovely windows. A herd of peacocks adds to its appeal. Along with ancient relics and different types of rock fossils, it also has a small museum. The remaining structures include the Shiva temple and mud houses. Eighty derelict sandstone homes can be found on the stairwells that lead underground. The fort’s former residents apply a spell to stop anyone from living in the village ever again before anyone leaves, which is a strange phenomenon. The fort is still little more than the remnants of what was built there 200 years ago.
