Tour Itinerary Detail

Upon your arrival at Cochin airport, our tour representative will meet and assist you in a smooth transfer to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel and take some rest. In the afternoon, embark on a sightseeing tour of Cochin which includes a visit to the Dutch Palace Museum, St. Francis Church, Hill Palace Museum, Jewish Synagogue, Jewish Street, and Chinese Fishing Nets.

Visit the oldest Jewish Synagogue in India also called the Dutch Palace. This house was built in 1545 and has been operational since then. Explore the museum in the palace to learn about the long colonial struggle in the city.

Next, visit the St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India. This church was controlled by Portuguese, Dutch, and English from time to time. You can explore the site where Vasco Da Gama was buried for 14 years before his son took the remains of his father to Lisbon.

The most popular attraction during the tour is the Chinese Fishing nets. This unique fishing method is now a part of Kerala culture. The large nets fixed to the wooden structure and hanging high in several rows create a great view during the sunset. You can take a boat ride to enjoy a stunning view from the deck.

Post breakfast in the morning, check out from the hotel and embark on an enchanting trip to Munnar by road. On the way to Munnar, treat your eyes to the panoramic views of the Cardamom Hills and green carpets of tea plantations. Upon arrival in Munnar, check into the hotel/resort. In your free time, you may choose to relax in your room or go trekking around the estate.

On day 3 of Kerala Ayurveda package, have a delectable breakfast and head out to visit the scenic Echo Point. Experience the natural phenomenon of echo while enjoying the breathtaking views. If you are really adventurous, you can hike to the top that rewards with an unmatched panorama. Relax on the green natural carpet by the rivulets formed by the surrounding waterfalls and don’t miss to catch the heaven in your camera.

Next, visit the Mattupetty Dam. This water conservatory produces the highest hydroelectricity in Kerala. The main attraction here is boating on the lake with the views of tea and coffee plantations on the surrounding mountain slopes. Then go to the shooting point or photo point, a nearby attraction. This place is like an artist’s creation decorated with small woods, rivulets, rolling mountains, and tea plantations. Here you get a great opportunity for photography.

Thereafter, you can experience the wilderness in the Eravikulam National Park spreading over 97 square Kilometer of land. Located along the Western Ghat Mountain, the park is famous for the rare and exotic mountain goat. Also, spot Langur, Leopards, and Indian Bison in the park. Eravikulam National Park is also home to the Nilgiri Tahr. You can spot this exotic animal in the Rajamalai region of the park. From Eravikulam Park, you can also view the highest peak in South India, the Anamudi Peak. If you are lucky, you can view the blooming Neelakurinji flowers on the mountain slope that bloom once in 12 years.

In the evening, you can enjoy boating on Kundala Lake. Spot a herd of elephants drinking water by the lakeside. Sail by the spice garden and enjoy the stunning sunset view from the boat.

Post breakfast in the morning, check out from the hotel and leave for Thekkady by road. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and freshen up. In the afternoon, embark on a sightseeing tour of Thekkady. The first destination is Murikkady is a panoramic viewpoint from where you can enjoy the sight of charming meadows, rolling mountains, and lovely brooklets. Feel the aromatic smell of spices in the air spreading by the cool breeze. Your next stop is Cellar Kovil, another great viewpoint located at the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. From here you will get a glimpse of the plain land of Tamil Nadu.

The historic MangalaDevi Temple is next on the list. It is located in the deep forest of Periyar National Park at the border of Tamil Nadu. Learn about the legendary stories behind the temple from the guides while admiring its beautiful Pandyan architecture.

Then, proceed for a nature walk in the Periyar National Park. Those who are more adventurous can go for bamboo rafting in the Periyar lake. This allows a closer view of the wildlife in the park. You can spot lion-tailed macaques, sambar deer, elephants, leopards, and Indian bison in the Periyar National Park.

Stay overnight in Thekkady.

Day 5 of your Kerala tour is reserved for backwater cruising. Post breakfast in the morning, check out from the hotel and head to Alleppey by road. On arrival, check-in at the hotel and take some rest. Thereafter, embark on a sightseeing tour of Alleppey. It is the land of backwaters and the backbone of Kerala tourism.
