Day 1 – 01 December 2026 | Arrival at Guwahati

Your journey to Northeast India begins with your arrival at Guwahati, the gateway to the region and the largest city of Assam. Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, you will be warmly received and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, the rest of the day is kept at leisure to recover from your journey.

Depending on arrival time, you may explore the city at your own pace. Guwahati sits on the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra River and blends ancient spirituality with modern urban life. An optional visit to the revered Kamakhya Temple, one of the most important Shakti Peethas in India, can be arranged. In the evening, you may enjoy a relaxed walk along the riverfront or experience local Assamese cuisine. Overnight stay in Guwahati.


Day 2 – 02 December 2026 | Guwahati to Kaziranga National Park

After breakfast, you will begin your scenic drive to Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of India’s finest wildlife reserves. The drive takes approximately 4–5 hours and passes through lush green landscapes, tea gardens, and small Assamese towns.

Upon arrival, check in to your wildlife resort located near the park. The rest of the day is free to relax and soak in the natural surroundings. Kaziranga is world-famous for hosting the largest population of the one-horned rhinoceros, along with elephants, wild buffalo, swamp deer, and rich birdlife. Enjoy the peaceful ambience of the forest as you prepare for the wildlife experiences ahead. Overnight stay in Kaziranga.


Day 3 – 03 December 2026 | Kaziranga National Park

Early in the morning, you head out for an exciting wildlife safari in Kaziranga National Park. Depending on availability, you may enjoy an elephant safari or a jeep safari through the grasslands and forested ranges of the park. This is the best opportunity to witness rhinos at close range and spot other wildlife in their natural habitat.

After breakfast, you may visit different ranges of the park or explore nearby villages to learn about local Assamese life and culture. The afternoon is free for leisure. In the evening, you can relax at your resort or attend a cultural program showcasing local music and dance (subject to availability). Overnight stay in Kaziranga.


Day 4 – 04 December 2026 | Kaziranga to Majuli Island

After breakfast, you proceed towards Nimati Ghat, from where you will take a ferry across the Brahmaputra River to reach Majuli Island, the world’s largest inhabited river island. The ferry journey itself is a unique experience, offering panoramic views of the vast river and rural life along its banks.

On arrival at Majuli, check in to your homestay or guesthouse. Majuli is known for its tranquil atmosphere, rich cultural heritage, and spiritual traditions. In the evening, enjoy a gentle walk through nearby villages and witness the simple lifestyle of the island’s inhabitants. The sunset over the Brahmaputra is a highlight of the day. Day 5 – 05 December 2026 | Majuli Island Exploration

This day is dedicated to exploring the cultural soul of Majuli. After breakfast, visit the famous Vaishnavite Satras, which are monasteries established by the saint-scholar Srimanta Sankardeva. These Satras preserve centuries-old traditions of art, music, dance, and theatre.

You will also visit Mishing tribal villages, interact with locals, and learn about their weaving traditions and daily life. A visit to the mask-making centers, where artisans create masks used in traditional performances, provides insight into Majuli’s artistic heritage. The day is slow-paced and immersive, allowing you to truly connect with the island’s rhythm. Overnight stay on Majuli Island.


Day 6 – 06 December 2026 | Majuli Island to Ziro Valley

After an early breakfast, you take the ferry back to the mainland and begin your journey towards Ziro Valley in Arunachal Pradesh. This is a long but scenic drive through hills, forests, and remote landscapes. Inner Line Permit formalities will be checked en route.

Ziro Valley is renowned for its cool climate, picturesque scenery, and unique Apatani tribal culture. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel or homestay. The evening is free to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the valley. Overnight stay in Ziro.


Day 7 – 07 December 2026 | Ziro Valley Sightseeing

After breakfast, explore the beautiful Ziro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage tentative site. Visit traditional Apatani villages known for their distinctive architecture, sustainable farming practices, and cultural customs. Walk through paddy fields surrounded by pine-covered hills, creating a postcard-perfect landscape.

You may also visit local markets and interact with the Apatani people to learn about their way of life. Ziro offers a serene contrast to the wildlife and river experiences earlier in the journey. Overnight stay in Ziro.


Day 8 – 08 December 2026 | Ziro to Dibrugarh

After breakfast, you depart Ziro and drive towards Dibrugarh, one of Assam’s major towns and a hub of the tea industry. The journey offers scenic views of rivers, forests, and tea estates.

On arrival, check in to your hotel. If time permits, you may take an evening walk through nearby tea gardens or relax at the hotel. Dibrugarh serves as an important transit point for your onward journey to Nagaland. Overnight stay in Dibrugarh.


Day 9 – 09 December 2026 | Dibrugarh to Mon (Nagaland)

An early start today as you travel from Dibrugarh to Mon, located in eastern Nagaland near the India–Myanmar border. This region is home to the Konyak Naga tribe, known for their striking traditional attire and rich warrior history.

Upon arrival in Mon, check in to your hotel or guesthouse. The rest of the day is free to acclimatize to the surroundings. Mon offers a raw and authentic tribal experience, far removed from mainstream tourism. Overnight stay in Mon.


Day 10 – 10 December 2026 | Mon – Longwa – Mon | Nagaland Festival

This is the highlight of your journey. After breakfast, proceed to Longwa Village, a unique settlement straddling the India–Myanmar international border. Half of the village lies in India and half in Myanmar, and the traditional chief’s house itself is divided by the border.

Today you experience the Chenmoho Festival, a major festival of the Konyak Naga tribe celebrated in early December. The festival marks the end of the harvest season and symbolizes unity, prosperity, and cultural pride. You will witness vibrant traditional dances, warrior songs, ceremonial attire with elaborate headgear, and age-old customs passed down through generations.

Local food, rice beer, and community celebrations create a festive atmosphere. Interaction with village elders and artisans provides deep insight into Konyak traditions and beliefs. After a culturally enriching day, return to Mon for an overnight stay.


Day 11 – 11 December 2026 | Mon to Dibrugarh

After breakfast, you begin your return journey from Mon to Dibrugarh. The drive retraces scenic routes through hills and forests, offering time for reflection on the cultural richness experienced during the festival.

Upon arrival in Dibrugarh, check in to your hotel. The evening is free for leisure, last-minute shopping, or simply relaxing after an adventurous journey. Overnight stay in Dibrugarh.


Day 12 – 12 December 2026 | Departure

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Dibrugarh Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey. Your 12-day exploration of Northeast India concludes with unforgettable memories of wildlife, river islands, mountain valleys, and vibrant tribal festivals.
