Great Rann of Kutch

The legend that Rann of Kutch 2022, which is also spelled “Kachchh,” has a map that, when turned upside down, looks like the Sanskrit word for tortoise, “kachchh,” gives rise to the name. The villages of Kutch have always been fertile with different culture and artistic talent despite being surrounded by barren regions and a severe climate.

The Indo-Pak border gives Kutch a population that is an eclectic mix of refugees from the other side of the border, tribes from various areas, and religions. This is reflected in its homes, food, art, social traditions, and landmarks, which include Jain temples, mosques, Swaminarayan Temple, museums, to name a few.

The history of Rann of Kutch 2022 is studded with legacy of artistry passed on through ages and its villages are living examples of its resilience to brave the fatal 2001 earthquake. The geographical location makes Kutch a unique destination where you can find beaches, mountains and White Desert.
