Amber Fort – The crowning head of Jaipur, Amer Fort lies on the rugged hills outside the town. The main highlight of this historic castle is the Sheesh Mahal (mirror Palace), a palace known for its craftsmanship in mirrors.
Jal Mahal – A water palace lies in the midst of the beautiful Man Sagar Lake, Jal Mahal is an exceptional structure displaying Rajputana culture. The palace in the lake was renovated and enlarged in the 18th century by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Amber. The wonderful five storied building built in red sandstone which is a major hub of tourists visiting in Jaipur.
Hawa Mahal – The most iconic landmark of Jaipur, Hawa Mahal or The Palace of Winds was built in 1799 by Sawai Pratap Singh. The palace was actually planned and designed for the royal ladies to get a view of everyday life in the city streets without being seen from outside. The beautiful architectural design of this palace is comprised of 953 small windows of latticework.
City Palace – One of the most important points of interest and a major milestone in Jaipur, City Palace is beautifully designed by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh during his reign. Amongst the various ancient jewels of Jaipur, the palace is uniquely structured with its excellent art. It is comprised of a large palace complex that is separated into a series of gardens, courtyards and structures.
Jantar Mantar – An observatory is a collection of 19 architectural astronomical instruments constructed by the Rajput king Sawai Jai Singh. It featured the world’s largest stone sundial and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in India. The Jantar Mantar observatory in Jaipur is the largest one in the world and this is what makes it a special for a traveler to visit in Jaipur Sightseeing.
Albert Hall Museum – Situated in the Ram Niwas Garden, Albert Hall Museum is a huge central museum of Rajasthan. Constructed by Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II in 1868, the museum displays a great collection of armory, clothes, paintings, sculptures, coins, artifacts, and other essentials of a bygone era. An Egyptian Mummy in the museum is a star attraction of this museum.
Royal Gatore – The fine and beautiful cluster of royal tombs in Royal Gatore makes a soothing and beautiful place to meditate and bring peace to mind by spending some relaxing hours here. Gatore Ki Chhatriyan was chosen by the founder of Jaipur in the 18th century for cremating the royal families of Jaipur. It is located on the foothills of Nahargarh Fort enclosed by the Aravalli Hills.
Monkey Temple (Galta Ji) – Settled on the outskirts of the regal city of Jaipur, Galtaji Temple is a prehistoric Hindu pilgrimage site. Outlined by the Aravalli hills, it houses several shrines, holy kunds, pavilions, and natural springs. This beautiful temple is situated at the heart of a hilly terrain that is bounded by a stunning gorge which attracts tourists here all around the year.
