Tour Itinerary

A Kerala houseboat tour begins with your arrival at the Cochin airport or railway station. Upon arrival at the hotel, meet the IHPL representative and get a transfer. After that, check into your hotel. After some rest, begin your sightseeing tour of Cochin.

Cochin is often referred to as the “Queen of the Arabian Sea.” This coastal city in Kerala boasts historical landmarks, including the Mattancherry Palace, the Paradesi Synagogue, St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica, and the Ernakulam Shiva Temple. At sunset, don’t miss the breathtaking view of the Chinese fishing nets. Take the time to explore the local markets, indulge in the delicious cuisine, and enjoy a unique shopping experience.

Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Enjoy an appetizing breakfast at the hotel. Then, check out and proceed to Alleppey by road. Upon arriving in Alleppey, board your houseboat. The houseboat cruise will begin from Pallathuruthy at noon. It will travel towards SNDP Thodu and Punnamada Kayal, allowing you to experience the emerald beauty of Kerala. In the late afternoon, you will have the opportunity to visit a nearby village. Other sights you will explore include Kuppapuram and Chitira Palli. While aboard the houseboat, enjoy the stunning views of the lush paddy fields.

The houseboat is anchored for the night at Mangalam/Marthandam.

Wake up to the breathtaking views of the backwaters. Following the traditional breakfast on the houseboat, the houseboat cruise starts again at 10 AM. Today, the houseboat heads towards Nedumudy. Take a moment to visit the Liscio Church first. After that, stroll through Veliyanadu village at Kavalam. You can also visit Kidangara, Mathikayal, and Chundan Vallam. Then, you will get the chance to go country boat canoeing for an hour at Kainakary.

Enjoy a restful stay at the houseboat. The houseboat is anchored for the night at Nedumudy.

Wake up to the sound of birds and the blessed views. After breakfast, the houseboat restarts at 10 AM. On this day, the houseboat tours the route to Thakazhi via Mancompu. Leave the boat at the Pulinkunnu dock. Here, you are scheduled to visit the Banana Plantation. Take a tour of Pulinkunnu Church, Kottaram Temple, and St. Mary’s Church. Then visit the local market in Champakulam. In the evening, Pullangadi, Pindithodu, and the vegetable plantation are also worth visiting. Then return to your houseboat.

The houseboat is anchored for the night at Thakazhi.

Day 5: Houseboat/Cochin departure

Today is the last day of your houseboat tour in Kerala. After breakfast, the houseboat cruise starts at 7.30 AM. The houseboat travels from Kanjipadam to Pallathuruthy. You shall reach the jetty dock by 9.00 AM. Upon reaching the dock, meet our driver and drive back to Cochin. You will be transferred to the airport or railway station for your onward journey.
