Teli Ka Mandir, Gwalior

One of the most popular places to visit in Gwalior is Teli Ka Mandir. The Gwalior Fort’s tallest and most spectacular temple is located there. Architectural elements from the north and the south have been combined. Teli Ka Mandir, located in the city of Gwalior, holds a unique place on the nation’s tourism map.

The Teli Ka Mandir is located within the confines of the prestigious fort known as the “Pearl in the Necklace of the Castles of Hind” that is housed in the city of Gwalior. It contains one of the outstanding strongholds from the Hindu era and was once a centre of Jain religion. The area, from which Gwalior originated, was formerly called as Gopasetra.

A 100-foot-tall tower in Madhya Pradesh is called Teli Ka Mandir. Its distinctive architectural design is reminiscent of a Prathihara Vishnu temple. The ornamentation are clearly Indo Aryan, and the design of the roof, or Shikhara, is clearly Dravidian. The ornamentation is in the well-known Nagara Style of Northern Indian art. There are statues of river goddesses, coiling serpents, passionate couples, and a soaring Garuda, Lord Vishnu’s chariot, all across the Teli Ka Mandir complex in Gwalior.
